Flexible tuition
Tuition at John XXIII is flexible.
John XXIII makes the gift of Montessori Academics and the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd program affordable by offering flexible tuition. What is flexible tuition? Tuition at John XXIII is not one-size-fits-all. Our families pay a wide range of tuition rates, depending on their unique financial positions. Additionally, a family never pays 100% of the cost to educate their children, making the value of an education at John XXIII far exceed the cost to our families.
Obtaining flexible tuition is simple.
Apply → Qualify → Enroll
Never let the question of affordability stop you from applying!
How does Flexible Tuition work?
Any family (current or new) may apply for Flexible Tuition if they are concerned about affording the full-tuition rate at John XXIII and they think they may qualify for the program. Many factors are considered when determining the tuition amount a family is able to pay, including income, assets, unusual expenses, and the size of the family.
All admissions, enrollment, and tuition services are managed by a third-party, confidential partner: TADS. Once a new family applies (or a returning family re-enrolls) in TADS, they then submit an application for Flexible Tuition, also in TADS. TADS evaluates the application, makes a recommendation, and John XXIII makes the final decision on tuition. John XXIII notifies families directly after the decision is made.
Should every family apply for Flexible Tuition?
No. Only families who are concerned that they cannot afford full tuition should apply.
What is John XXIII's range of tuition?
We offer many programs with a variety of "add-ons" to meet the educational desires of our families. The program and the number and length of days attending per week all determine tuition. We can present the options available to your family when you contact us.
Do I need to apply for Flexible Tuition every year?
Yes. A new application must be submitted every year.
Do I need to apply (re-enroll) at John XXIII to be granted Flexible Tuition?
Yes. All families first apply or re-enroll. Then, they submit a second application for Flexible Tuition through TADS.
What is the deadline to apply for Flexible Tuition?
Flexible Tuition applications are due no later than May 1 for the upcoming academic year.
If I do not receive Flexible Tuition this year, can I apply again next year?
Yes. A family that does not qualify is welcome to reapply the following year.
Will applying for Flexible Tuition impact my child's chance of being admitted to John XXIII?
No. Admission applications and Flexible Tuition applications are evaluated separately. We do not base our admissions decision on whether a family is applying for Flexible Tuition.
What kind of economic situation is typical of a family who receives Flexible Tuition?
A wide range of families with a variety of circumstances receive Flexible Tuition, from those who are able to pay close to the full tuition to those who pay much less. Many factors are evaluated, including income, assets, unusual expenses, and the size of the family.
Do some families receive free tuition?
No. Every family must make a financial investment in their child’s education. Our commitment to providing Flexible Tuition means that we are sharing in that investment with you.
Do all families that qualify for Flexible Tuition receive it?
No. It is recommended that families who need assistance apply for Flexible Tuition as early as possible. John XXIII does not have the ability to offer Flexible Tuition to every family that qualifies.
Who funds Flexible Tuition?
The funding for Flexible Tuition is provided in two ways:
- Our many supporters at our annual spring event, SlowFoodVastWine™. If you are blessed with the means, you, too, can make a Catholic Montessori education possible for children by a sponsorship donation and by your attendance each year on the last Saturday in April!
- Our benefactors who donate to the Chris N. Cuddeback Memorial Scholarship Fund via PayPal. Any donation to this fund is restricted to use as tuition financial assistance for our families.
What is the cost to apply for Flexible Tuition?
TADS charges a $60 application fee for Flexible Tuition.
