Work at White Oaks is well underway! The sophomores, under the guidance of Joel Fernandez, have begun their exploration of physics.
Sophomore Natalie Briggs shared with us one of their first experiments:
My class just started learning mechanics in physics class. On Wednesday, October 3rd, we did experiments to prove and solve some of the equations we have learned.
Teresa dropped a basketball from a height that Patrick measured; Will, Dominic and I used stopwatches to measure the time that it took to hit the ground, and Kiane recorded the data. With the information we gathered, we were able to solve for the ball’s rate of acceleration.
